“Jess and Xavi provided our group an excellent insiders guide to Barcelona and were wonderful hosts during our study trip. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activities organised and we look forward to coming back!”

Barcelona visit NOVEMBER 2012
“We took undergraduate students from two programmes on the School Trip BCN deal. It was worth every euro. The students had an invaluable glimpse into the Barcelona art scene with very well judged tailored tours, we got a perspective on the city which can only be given by people who live and work there. The experience of putting up the exhibition and the subsequent private view has really increased the confidence of the students. As soon as we returned to England some of the students were organising their own independent exhibition, this would not have been conceivable without the Untitled BCN experience. Suddenly they had a Barcelona show on their CVs and anything seemed possible. This is the trip which they will be talking about for the rest of their lives, not least because of the great after show party! I am so grateful to Jess and Xavi for giving them this opportunity and can’t wait to return.”

Barcelona visit & exhibition MARCH2012
‘I happened upon Untitled BCN on a chance walk through Gracia a little over 4 years ago. Since then, the gallery has supported my development as an artist unequivocally. Alongside carrying out a months residency i have exhibited there numerous times, co-curated a show and developed links with other artists that will last a lifetime. Jess and Xavi’s unrelenting support for emerging artists oozes out of every part of the gallery creating a wonderful community of like minded and vibrant individuals. I’m now dividing my life now between London and Barcelona as much as i can. Without a doubt the gallery has been central in my continued effort to make this happen.’

“My Residency at Untitled BCN Gallery in Barcelona helped me learn a lot about my practice and how I would be able to make the transition from University to a more professional practice….. Whilst I was there I learnt how to overcome issues that can arise during a project, and also opened my eyes to the opportunities that are available outside of the UK. I feel this experience gave me the confidence to believe in my own abilities and made me realise how beneficial it is to make connections with people like Jess and Xavi while still studying.”
We came in order to understand the city and its culture. We knew the sun would be out – it was. We knew the people would be passionate – they were. We got lost, quite a lot.
Xavier and Jess showed us Barcelona they tried to explain how to detect patterns in the relationships between people and this remarkable city. The week finished with a group exhibition, an opening and even a birthday cake.
Each day was different, memorable, tiring and rewarding. We will be back in 2 years to begin our own Barcelona Biennale.

Jess and Xev are exemplary hosts for a creative immersion in Barcelona. Their passion for the city is palpable and infectious, and their knowledge of the locality is in another league from any tourist guide. The guided sculpture tour was a particular highlight for many students, as was the opportunity to get off the tourist trail, be that on a mountaintop or at a backstreet private view. Untitled:BCN is an impressive, professional and inspiring organisation with a slick gallery in a great part of town. The fantastic opportunity for an international exhibition was amplified by the well-publicised and well-attended opening night. Above all, this unique experience was made truly extraordinary by the charming wit and warmth of Jess and Xev. Thank you so much, we will be back!
